Happy Birthday GIVEAWAY!!!

It is Giveaway day in Blogland. Go to Sewmamasew.com (click on blog) to check out the master list of the handmade giveaways today. I think there is something very valuable and endearing about something that has been made by hand. It is unique, it is worked, it is special. What better than a handmade item to celebrate the unique and special people in our lives. I am talking about birthdays people!

I am giving away a fabric celebration bunting and a special birthday hat. The banner has multi-colored and patterned triangles that will surely make any party more festive. It is trimmed with stripes cut on the bias so you can stretch it from the rafters and party like its 1999, only greener!
The party hat has coordinating fabric and a jaunty 100% wool tassel on the top. It is sure to make any child the captain (or princess ) for the day. Also, the colors for both the banner and the cap are gender neutral so bring on the boys!

TO ENTER:
Leave a comment ON THIS POST. I thought to require you answer a question but I couldn't think of a clever one. Instead, if you leave a clever comment I will put your name in twice.
I will hold my random drawing of those who entered on Sunday, December 7. Good Luck and Happy Birthday to those December birthdays (like my grandma, my cousin, Jesus Christ, and many others!)

I'm desperately trying to think of something cute to say, but this baby (whose birthday WILL be in December, dammit!) is literally sucking the life force out of me. And Adam is peacefully snoring away (I think that's an oxymoron--peacefully snoring) in the bedroom but I can hear him out here in the living room, so I just KNOW I won't be getting to sleep any time soon. So between by brain cells being leached and my lack of sleep (not to mention my insatiable need to pee and the sugar rush I have from the last 2 pieces of turkey day pie that I ate about an hour ago), I have nothing creative to say. So I'm hoping I'm at least somewhat amusing and/or get a pity entry into your drawing. That is all I have to say.

Julie said...

that is so cute, and i have always wanted to make one, yours is fabulous. I hope to get one!!! Thanks for doing such a fun giveaway and I like the fact you called it Happy Birthday December!

It's too early to come up with anything clever (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it hehe) but I sure would love to be included in your giveaway. The winning and the prize would give me an excellenet excuse to throw a party.

super cute! I have nothing creative to say. Nothing at all. Sorry...

My baby's 1st birthday is this month, and I'm trying to impress on my 3 yo that Christmas is Jesus's birthday - this would be fun to help celebrate both!

I love the birthday banner giveaway in the pre-holiday time :) This is such a great idea for kids whos birthdays merge with the holidays - I always hated that when I was a child and wanting to be special ;)

I'm glad you got your mom's bernina back!! Yea for Meg, the creative inspiration to me. You inspired me to make some stockings this Christmas. Do you have a store you get good deals on fabric?
The reason I want it is because if it is the one from Lilly's party, it will have a little bit of Maui mist on it. :)
Thanks for sharing your talents Meg.

Boat Bird said...

Cute banner- not so cute comment.... I hope the weather is fine with you cos here we had lunch on the balcony and sunbathed :) Happy days!

You are clever.
Does that count as a clever comment?
I think you are clever and talented and the banner is very pretty and would liven up any party.
I think that deserves at least 3 entries.

Something clever....hmmm....if only this had been last week and I had won, then we could have used the hat and banner for not one but 2 birthdays. Oh yes last week was one heck of a week. Thanksgiving, then my daughter's birthday the next day, and my son's on Sunday. Talk about a week late and a dollar short lol!!!

~ Doreen said...

This would be perfect for an upcoming January birthday a special family member will be having!

Unknown said...

I wouldn't have to make one if I won yours! It's so great :)

I remember partying when it was New Year's Eve 1999...no one was around for the fireworks because so many thought the year 2000 was going to bring doom to the US. We had a front row view of the harbor and saw the most amazing fireworks ever!

Banner is lovely btw!

Christy said...

"bring on the boys!" hmmm..My husband might object. I'd rather just win the bunting, thanks! =)

Jan said...

Way cool. I'd love to win.

Bonus Mom said...

Great! My son's Birthday is the 7th! I wish the giveaway was last month so I could use it this month for his first birthday!

Matt & Amanda said...

My creative juices left me, but I thought it would be fun to use the birthday hat and banner for every birthday as a tradition. If I don't happen to win I think I might make my own. :)

Beca said...

I'd love this!

Vacuum Queen said...

Wow. So festive! My daugter's birthday is january 2nd and I just know she'd love to win this. I have no clever comment....but 6 years ago I was clever enough NOT to have that baby on Christmas day. That's gotta count for something, right?

Paper Dolls For Boys said...

Well, I can't compete with your grandma, cousin, or Jesus Christ so if one of them wants the cute hat and banner then let them have it. But if it's up for grabs then I throw my name in the ring!
Nice to make your blog acquaintance!

Tracey

What a fun way to celebrate a birthday! My crazy daughter is turning 2 next month (where has the time gone???) and we're just having a small party here at the house for her. I'm a summer birthday so it's a bit difficult for me to figure out fun things to do for a winter birthday party. Great decorations are definitely a must, since we can't go outside for very long. Thanks for being a part of the great giveaway! Your birthday favors are darn cute! :D

When on of Da'Gorgeouses (my twin 2 1/2 year olds) wakes up crying in the middle of the night and I feel like I've already gotten up enough the last few weeks (DrillSgt. sleeps like a rock he used to fall asleep next to booming canons--hence the lack of hearing), I wait until she starts yelling out HIS name!

Hugs & Blessings!

My daughter's birthday is New Year's Day, not as bad as a December birthday, but almost. Plus, mama always has it off work.

My sweet little niece will be having her first birthday in February! I would love to surprise my sister with this! My sister is NOT a crafter, but understands the work involved in making things. She loves to save things that are handmade to be used generation after generation. Wouldn't this be a great First Birthday tradition to hand down????

WendyLou said...

Hahaha! The Giveaway Diva's comment made ma laugh out loud. Ah, but of course I can't think of anything clever...
Will a totally random and useless fact do? Did you know that a group of crows is called a "murder"? Yup! And a group of frogs is called an "army". I told you it would be useless! :u) Thanks for the giveaway!

What a great giveaway! I love that it can be used year 'round! On Dec. 5 would have been my Memaw's (that is grandmother to those not residing in the southern united states) 86th. It will also be the 6 month birth date for my little boy. He never got to met his great Memaw, but she would have loved his laid back happy personality.

it is too late to be clever - my daughter's birthday is in two weeks and her party would be much cuter with this bunting and the hat would look much cuter on her head. not that it doesn't look adorable in the photo. but imagine it all by itself on a dark shelf or in a cold box wanting a little head to warm it up.

Brooke said...

This would be wonderful for my soon to be 2 y.o. birthday (22nd), not to mention my 10 y.o. daughter would love it too!!! It would also help me to celebrate her birthday without it being lost in Christmas cheer.

Clever comment? Well, my kids are yelling at me to get off the computer and I actually have a pain in my left hip from sitting so long and entering all these wonderful contests. I have lots of birthdays around here so that cute banner would be put to good use.

Ah, what a cutie modeling the hat!

Love the "green" birthday decor.

My nephew turns 18 today - it would be great to have a party and have him wear this hat. Too cute. Thank you for hosting a giveaway!
